Transition to VA life!

LoLo and I decided that we would not keep trying to pick up where we left you all because it would take us to long to catch up! We want to pick up from now, pick up from where our journey as friends will now be in two different states. 

This quote is so very true and starting yesterday distance for our friendship is now reality! Saying goodbye to a bestfriend is one of the hardest things to do!! Both LoLo and I feel emotions in our stomachs and both of us felt like our lunch was about to be seen again when we said goodbye. One thing that we hold on to is that even though we are not in the same state anymore our friendship will still grow and this blog is not only for you (the reader) but it is another way that we can keep up with each other! I am very excited that you get to come along in the new journey, and we are more then happy to have the company :)

This last weekend I moved to Virgina for a huge job opportunity! It is a job with the same company that my brother works for in Boston. Bright Horizons is the company's name and it is a center that creates a safe environment for kids to learn and grow in! The ages they work with are 0-5 year olds, but I am hoping to work specifically with the infants! I have an interview this Tuesday morning and can't wait to see if I get the job! This is a job I have been hoping and praying to get since December and it has been anything but smooth sailing. The Lord has been teaching me so much during the ups, but I have truly been tested when it did not workout how I thought it would. 

-God's timing is always perfect timing...never to late or to early-

Also for those of you that don't follow me on Facebook or Instagram I also started dating April 11th! 

Joseph lives here is Virginia and I can't wait to see our relationship grow without having to be long distant! He is currently in his senior year of college and is studying busyness administration! He use to do landscaping and I know I am partial, but he does a great job! He is a great guy and I can't wait to get to start this new part of our relationship!!!!!! 

Emotionally this past month has been very challenging, to say this move was easy in anyway I would be lying!! I got some packing done early on so that I could just spend time with people and I am so glad I did that. I was able to have two "see you later" parties and they both were a ton of fun! Hard in some ways, but just to great create a memory with the people that impacted my time in Georgia was very important to me! I also got to spend a day hanging out with the Cartey family. I worked with Mrs Cartey in the cafeteria at Prince Avenue and KK (one of the six kids) played on my soccer team! 

This family was very hard to leave along with many other ones. We always had so much fun together laughing and being a little too crazy for the public at times!:D 

 

The families that I babysat on Sunday nights also became a part of me and I loved these kids to pieces! 

Putting the Plummer kids to bed for the last time made my heart ache knowing that they wont be little for to much longer. I always read them two stories and that night it was hard to make it through the books without tearing up. After I kissed them and told them goodnight tears rolled down my cheeks as we cuddled, but then I just thought of how I can't wait to do that with my own kids someday!

The three kids and I had so many great memories on Sundays and let's just say some are never going to be forgotten.

These are LoLo's kids that she nannies and babysits (this was from a photo shoot her Dad did with the boys)! I got the privilege to go into work with LoLo often over the summer and help her with the two boys! L and I got to play games from sorry (the board game) to transformers and rescue bots! I also got time to hold and play with Little E who is growing up so very fast! I did not realize how close I had gotten to this family over the summer until it was time to say goodbye and tears came shortly after! 

 

After all the goodbyes it was time for the road trip from Georgia to Virginia on Friday. I packed my car up on Thursday so I could spend time with LoLo's family that night and we could just leave from the farm the next morning. 

The coolest thing about the road trip is that LoLo got to come with me and then she flew back Sunday afternoon. The road trip was very adventurous and long, but it made a memory and that is what matters :) The time she was here even though it was short meant more to both of us then we thought it would! She got to see where I am living and got to meet some of the people that I will be spending time with! She was a huge help with making my apartment feel like my space and it made the transition so much easier. We are both very thankful that she got to take work off and was able to come with me! (LoLo will be posting the pictures from the road trip, she has them because I was driving)

The day that LoLo left I needed to go on a walk so I drove to the Parkway and had a nice quiet walk! Just needed some fresh air, exercise, and a time to journal! It was a beautiful day and I can't wait to go back another day, I have a feeling this will be me new favorite place to go! 

      

           

 Can't wait to start this new adventure and I am excited to get back on track with blogging more often. Thanks for all your support during this time of change. I know that there will be moments and blogs that are hard to write because it is not easy, but I want you all to not just read about the good times but also the hard ones. Ready to come along with me on my journey....well then lets get started!!!!

The Word Beauty

I don't know I am alone in feeling this, but I am sure that someone else has felt it. Just thinking about what I am doing today that is making a difference, not only in my life but in others around me. I was doing my time in the word and this verse fell in my lap..."Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute." ( Psalm 82:3 ) I wrote this is my journal "It is not enough to pray for God to send someone to rescue the oppressed when I am  very capable.  What if God has already chosen me and He's waiting on me to decide if I want to help?  What if my impact could prevent even more people from being taken advantage of?  Wouldn't that be a remarkable legacy if me, Heather, could make a difference. Even if it was only one person's life?"  This week I have really been thinking about the word beauty. I found this quote and put it on the background to my phone so I am reminded of it." 

 

 

I normally get Mondays off of work so I get to relax and just do whatever I plan. I do have fitness practice with my girls from Prince Avenue, but other then that I try to save that day for coffee or friend dates! Something that I try to do every day is workout. At my apartment complex they have a little gym that we can use and I sure have taken advantage of that. This picture is of my breakfast this last Monday. It is so nice to get some extra rest and have a good breakfast to start my day. Then I went on a walk outside because it was such a beautiful day! I love fall weather I just don't like when it gets to winter weather and the cold sets in.

These are two of my bestfriends! You all know LoLo and the other girl on the right is my roommate Gabby! She has been such a blessing to me this last semester! I really don't know what and where I would be now without her. She has so much school yet always makes time to talk. I love both these girls so very much! 

Went to Your Pie for the first time the other night. It is like a pizza version of Subway :) 

I have been loving coaching the Prince High School girls soccer team!!! It has been so energizing for me, the girls are so great and I can't wait to start practicing in January. Right now we are just doing fitness and team bonding activities, but it has been really great! We ran a 5k a couple weeks ago and I was so encouraged by how the girls did!

 

 They all finished and no one crossed the finish line walking :) After the race some of us went to Ihop and it was so cool getting to know the girls outside of there school life. We have another team bonding night this next Saturday, and I will try my best to get photos to put up! 

 

That was the last part of this week and I am so ready to get started on a new one! Ready to run and hang out with my girls tomorrow! Hope u all had a great and relaxing weekend!

Growing up!

It has been yet again WAY too long since I have blogged! I wish I was better at staying up that little bit extra every other night to just work on post at least once a week! I am going to again just try to do better!
Life has been crazy, but it has been such a growing last couple months for me. I feel like I am learning "big girl" lessons and just every day learning more about who I am becoming! I would be masking it all if I said it has been easy. I have been keeping my focus on the stars, and not letting the darkness get me down. There is so many encouraging people that I have in my life and they have kept me going! I have had a busy schedule, but it has been full of living on and serving people....that is what keeps me going!
 

Work: It has been a challenge, but at the end of the day I always look back and am so thankful for being blessed to work for such a great company and owner. I have been over prep, but this last week I have been helping manage the kitchen with a good friend of mine. Last week was tiring yet I am so proud of the kitchen. It has been so awesome to see our kitchen come together and have each others backs. The kitchen can be very stressful and it is cool to see it full of support for one another! 

 

 

 One night we had to feed the UGA band so we had to go in at 1am.  It did not make any sense for me to come home for a couple hours so I slept in the playground in the cow car :)

Got to do what you got to do :)

 

Halloween night I volunteered at a church that a lady from CFA attends and had a blast with all the little kids that were there! 
 

 

The corporate office- I was blessed with being chosen from my store to go and visit our corporate office in Atlanta. There was about 16 of us that went {between two stores} and it was so eye opening! It was so cool to see how humble Truett Cathy was. He has recently went to be with the Lord, but it was so cool to see how his family is keeping that same humble spirit in the business. My favorite part was the test kitchen. It is where they test all the up coming products! It was mind blowing to see all the thought and energy they put into one product that has the potential to be successful or even fail. The people there were so friendly and I was able to meet so many different people.

On our trip we were also able to also go to the first ever CFA dwarf house and eat PIE!! I got coconut pie and it was so yummy!

 

Sundays: Every week I am the leader of a 4-5 year old class and I love all the kids as my own. They are so sweet and just have this free sprit that is so contagious. We have a blast every week and learn more about the Love of our Savior. 

 

 

Then I get to babysit sweet little Norah on Sunday nights! 

 

My birthday: To sum it up I felt so loved by so many people! It has always been so hard for me to spend  a birthday or a holiday away from my family. This year I went to corporate the day before my birthday and when I walked in the door after a long day LoLo and Gabby had a surprise dinner all set and ready for me when I got home! They had decorated the apartment and made dinner and dessert! It was so sweet of them, I did not really felt beyond thankful. 

 

Dinner was so good! they did a Mexican theme!

These two girls mean so very much to me! Could not ask for a better roommate and bestfriend!

I had to go to work on my birthday, but two of my good friends there made it so fun! They covered me in whipped cream after our lunch rush (yeah felt just as great as it sounds). I also had gifts and cards from my family waiting for me when I got home:)

Since we were all so tired after the long day at the store my friends took me to a farm that Sunday to celebrate! They took me out to lunch, then we went and played at the farm and got to go through a corn maze! I had one and a half things of Cotten candy { ;o) } and probably could have even eaten more!! We were going to stop for slushes to cool us off on our way home, but I had fallen asleep in the back seat...so they called it a day! 

 

All around it was a ton of fun and I made so many birthday memories I will not forget! 

Catering- I got the opportunity to cater a small bridle shower! The pictures really speek for me :)  again just trying to not have it take u a year to get through this post :)

I need a new computer!

Hey Guys!! Ok, so my computer has been acting so weird lately and I have not been able to get my blog site to load for the past 2 weeks :/ So, I am about to do a photo dump on you all and fill you in on life :) 

First of all... It is finally FALL!!!! October is definitely one of my favorite months of the year and we  are already 3 days into it! Pumpkin candles are a huge weakness of mine... I have already bought several and am about to have to go get more because I burn them as often as I can :) 

My Q kids have been amazing as always! Although, the other night baby Q got sick while I was babysitting them and it was the first time I have ever dealt with a baby throwing up :( And not spit up, but really throwing up... it was so pitiful! It was also the first time in 7 years of babysitting these kiddos that I have ever called Matt and Shannon to come home early... Baby Q wasn't stopping and I didn't know what to do... But of course she stopped when mom and dad showed up and she didn't throw up any more after I left! I am so glad it was fast for her little body! 

Random: I got a new bracelet! I LOVE it! It's from this new store in town called Philanthropy and it is such a neat store! All of the money goes towards helping different missions groups around the world! 

I made fried green tomatoes the other week... AMAZING! I hadn't had them in forever and so one day I just decided to make them for dinner... such a great decision! :) 

Before the farm opened, I was able to help out one of my favorite jobs ever! My old manager called me up and asked if I could help out with a catering job for Chick-Fil-A on Saturday, Sept. 20th and of course I said 'YES'! It was so great working again with my CFA people! I just love them! 

Last Monday and Tuesday night we had our staff training! It went really well and I am really excited about our staff for this season! 

This little guy was my cleaning buddy on Wednesday while I cleaned out our Kettle Corn building... it must be praying mantis season because I have seen several! 

We are OPEN! Washington Farms opened on Saturday, September 27th! It was a beautiful day and even though it was slow, we still had a ton of fun! 

The 'jumping pillow' is probably our most popular attraction aside from our corn maze! I could jump on it for hours if I was allowed :) 

This photo is actually from today. Field Trips started this last Tuesday and they have gone fairly well... except this morning when the sky decided to open up on us right as a school of 131 students showed up! We ended up still doing the entire field trip, improvising here and there, and the kids still seemed to have a good time! The staff did a great job and we ended the morning completely soaked! This photo was after the rain stopped and the sky looked so amazing! 

This is how I did my office work today :) Not too shabby! I borrowed some sweats and curled up on the Washington's couch to answer emails and phone messages... it felt quite nice! 

And lastly for today is this... my Lost It app... I am really trying to get back into shape and watch what I am eating on a daily basis. This app is great and I have used it several times to get back into shape and to lose weight. The very first time I used it, I lost 30lbs over the course of a year! I don't need to lose that much again, but I do need to be more focused on my weight and eating. This photo was taken on opening day for the farm... 15,000 steps is a TON for one day! Average for me is about 6,000 steps in a day :) 

Well guys, that's it for now! I have some really amazing and exciting news coming, but a few more things have to fall into place before I can share about it... so be on the lookout for that!! I am SO ready to tell you all about it!!! I love you all and I hope that this weekend is a great one for everybody!
