The Last Two Weeks for Lil'Chef

About my last couple weeks...

It has mainly been work, work, and more work :), but I am still loving every minute of it! My main focus is the Prep station, but I kinda just work everywhere. I like to jump from position to position because it makes the day go by much faster.

One of the biggest reasons I decided to stay at CFA (Chick-fil-A) was because of this guy...Carlos!

He is a huge mentor, and he is the best kitchen manager a restaurant could ever ask for! He delegates well, but also work extremely hard! He saw the potential that I had before anyone else in the store...he believed in me! He is a wonderful dad to his two sons (that also work at CFA) and a great husband to his wife. I have spent time with the family and they are so welcoming and hospitable.

Got a love our game day weekends!!!! This weekend we had to be there at 3am to start rolling biscuits. It is really a lot of fun and it gives me a good excuse to drink a lot of coffee!

Church time with my kiddos!!! This week they loved to build with the box, it was so cute because they would laugh and make a big deal whenever their tower would fall.

And like every other Sunday not only do I get to spend time with my kids at church, but I also get to babysit. I took Norah and lucky on a walk on the beautiful sunny afternoon! Sadly we had a scary encounter with a female dog...it got my heart racing, but thankfully we were all okay :)

I love the movie Ice Castles...so one night I watched it all by myself. Even though it was kind a lonely, it was super relaxing.

I had to get my dose of Jillian Michaels for the day, then went on a walk to the store. I live about a mile from Kroger so it's a really nice run/walk.

This last trip to Kroger I was super excited about because I have been saving my money up to get some healthy stuff. What I did because obviously I can't drink all this before it would go bad is I made it all up and put it in Ziploc bags then put it in the freezer! Works perfectly, and I love it!

Here's a picture of me and Carlos and then David is the one on the right. We asked him to take a picture of us and instead he had flip the camera and took a ton of pictures of himself! Ohhhh how much I LOVE the people I work with!

Out on another run.....and the sky was beautiful! When I got back I had a bunch of work to do on the computer so I decided to have Lilo and Stitch playing in the background.

Nothing is more satisfying than seeing a full prep table at work!!!  It's a wonderful thing!

This is super random, but I saw this on Facebook and loved it...so true!

Well if you thought 3 AM was early to get up and start rolling biscuits, this last Saturday I had to be at the store by 2:30 AM! Makes for a very long day, but a ton of fun is had because everyone is so tired!

Well… That concludes my crazy last two weeks! Sorry is was scattered all over the place, that's kinda where my brain is right now.

Can't wait to write about this next week, it has been a great one. I am catering a bridal shower this Saturday so get ready to see lots of pictures on my next post :) .

The New Routine

Sunday mornings with my 4 year olds. We spent the last 15 min if class playing musical chairs. I think we have a liitle too much fun ;)

LoLo and I went to the movies with all the girls in her family to watch 100 foot journey. It was one of the best movies that I have seen in a long time. I would highly suggest that if you have not seen it yet please put in on your "movies to watch list".

We had LoLo and Michael over for dinner and a game of pool. It was such a refreshing night because all of us are so busy and never ever get time all together.

Some things I like to do on my days off of work.

I was invited to one of my coworkers birthday party, and his favorite is velvet cake. I made a red and blue layered cake with cream cheese frosting. I wish I took a picture of the inside because it looked super cool, but it was too good to remember when I started eating it :)

I love to hang out with coworkers outside of work, it is one of my favorite things to do.

Daniel, aka the birthday boy :)

Our new coffee at Chick-fil-A....it is amazing! I drink it for a treat once in a while : )

Mollie and I bring in our own aprons into work and were both on prep for the night. Got to do the little things to make work FUN!

Every Sunday night I babysit Norah. Her mom and dad go to a Bible study group from 5-8 and I really enjoy the time I get with this sweet girl every week. Sundays are days I just want to lay around, but once I get to the house I am glad I do it.

I went to a job interview for a assistant coach position with a varsity soccer team here in Athens. I will still be full time at CFA, but starting in Nov/Dec I will hopefully have this part time job as well. I just got a call that I have a second interview on Monday so I will update you if I got the job as soon as I know.

After my interview I went and surprised LoLo at the farm for a sleepover. I love the anamals at the farm...this is Fred the turkey and I think this picture was just cool.

I know LoLo already posted about the fair, but I will just add my pictures to her stories :)

I got a corn dog, fried Oreos ( I tried them for the first time and they were SO much better after they cooled down), and I had to get cotton candy! I got my own bag and ate it all....yeah. it was so good!

There was this game and this is what you won. I wanted to play sooooo bad, but I knew Gabby would have killed me if I brought it into the apartment.

This last week Norah had missed her nap and fell asleep while I was reading to her. #sweetmoments

I love shopping at Kroger, I got enough points to get off .30 a gal! What a big blessing!

LoLo and I had a dinner date, Keba was fresh and filling! I would go again!

I was making biscuits for the store and the inner "chef" in me came out! I made blueberry lemon biscuits with icing drizzled over them. Everyone loved them, I even got a facebook message from a stranger asking if she could order them. Nothing makes a chef happier then when people like their food!

Well today I got to play a small part in a  huge event with CFA. As you can see I packed my car full of food and then was in charge of assembling all the trays when I got there. It was a ton of fun and it was so much fun being able to work with the catering staff. It was a crazy day, but a fun one!

My deli fresh tray, fruit bowl, cookie tray, and a veggie wrap tray.

As you can see everyday is a new challenge and I love being able to grow through them. I love my job even when there are days that are busy and full of chaos. This weekend is another home football game and our store is already getting geared up for it!
GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!

Memories of the Fair

Ever since my family lived in California, participated in 4-H, and competed in livestock competitions, I have LOVED going to the fair!!
Eleven year old LoLo with her 2nd place ribbon! I was very proud of that ribbon!
{I won it showing my chickens!}
On Sunday, Lil' Chef and I were able to go to the county fair near us! My mom was doing a wool spinning demonstration and so we were able to get in with her :) The fairgrounds were kind of disappointing, but we still had a great time!
It was Lil' Chef's first time at a fair! We had a blast!

Of course the first thing we went to see were the animals! I always wanted to show cows... but mom said no :( It was due to the fact that we didn't have enough land to house a cow, but that didn't lessen my desire to show a cute Jersey heifer! (these are Herfords btw... they are a meat breed, not dairy ;) )

These long lines of stalls make me so happy! When we would show our livestock at the fairs in CA, we would get 2-3 of these stalls and have the animals in 1-2 and we always had an open one for all of our animal equipment.... Man, those are some GREAT memories! We would hangout here for most of the day and we had coolers in our open stall and sometimes we brought in a cot to take naps on... it was the life :)

Fair Food!!!! Nothing gets better than good 'ole fair food! It was my first time ever getting a turkey leg! It was really good and HUGE! I had also gotten roasted corn before the turkey leg, and then, after my main meal, I got a favorite of mine... Carmel Apple!! And this one was particularly yummy :)

And of course Lil' Chef and I could not fully experience the whole fair without cotton candy! I ate way too much of that stuff...

This scene right here brings back feelings of stress, excitement, nerves, happiness, and paranoia that my animal would not behave inside the ring! In the two years that I participated in 4-H, I showed goats, pigs, and chickens (which were my babies! I loved my chickens!!).....

Yes, that is me... on the far right... NOT looking at our instructor. Like I said, I was always concerned my animal was not going to behave!

Me and my trusty goat, Paige! This was during a show at the Santa Cruz county fair in 2001....

And I placed!! I don't remember exactly what this ribbon was for, but I was proud of it none the less!

Fairs in California are so different than the fairs in Georgia, but to me the excitement and the thrill of the fairgrounds will always be there! I am so thankful for the two years of livestock competitions I was able to do! Great memories and lessons learned...Memories that will forever be cherished and relived every time I step foot on the fairgrounds!

Until next time,
LoLo
